Sue had given us a little jar of glue. We were supposed to use this to help glue down our eyebrows. I was scared that it was going to rip out some of them but Sue assured us that it wasnt going to happen if we removed it correctly and it wasnt that strong of glue.
This pictures show my eyebrows with glue on them. I first used my finger to apply glue to them. I then used the comb that came in out kits to comb through them and to get them all covered in the glue. I had alot of trouble with this part. My eyebrows did not want to stay down. I think i ended up putting maybe 4 layer of glue on because I couldnt get them all to lay down.
After I got a majority of them glued down I then powdered them to help set them and to make sure the glue didnt move. This process was very time consuming and I atually got very frusterated during it. After the powder I used a sponge to put foundation down over top of them to help them blend into my skin more. I thought that this process was going to work better for me however you could still see some of my eyebrow hairs under the foundation and power and glue.
This was only the begining of this process. Sue then gave us a suprise assignment. I am not good with suprises and actually got very nerous. When she handed out that worksheet that we had to copy I think I almost had a hear attack. I honesly thought she was kidding.
How on earth was I going to create this????!!! I am not an artisit I am an education major. I started off by asking Sue way to many questions. I couldnt help it though I was terrified of how I was going to accomplish this.
I started off slow, I took my brown pencil and started to draw the outlines on my face.
Hey I even got Sue behind me in a picture. This was looking so crazy to me. I know it wasnt right but I just needed to stick with it and go with my gut feeling.
I was going to use the skin color as black but then I realized I had to paint a huge balck shape on one side of my face and I decided to change it. I decided to go with white that way I would be able to see all the other colors. I know you are supposed to start with the light colors and go to dark but I needed to get the bug chuck of black down dirst that way I could visually see where all the other colors went. I then colored in the shape green on my cheeck.
I knew red was not safe near my eyes so I chose to make that my lip color because I knew I wanted red in this design.
This is the almost done look. I hated doing the orange part on my forehead and bridge of my nose. It was so hard to do and I felt like the black was bleeding into the other lines.
My neck was done so sloppy. Sue wanted to take a picture and I wanted my look to look done in the picture I did not want to be the only one that didnt have it done. So i quicly threw two colors on there. This is also a side view of the other side of my face.
Here is the over all look for the Picasso design. I can definelty saw that this was not one of my faviorites. I am not creative so it was very hard for me. Although it took me out of my comfort zone this is not something that I would like to do again. I like having a lot of time to plan out my projects and this one was a suprise.
