Old age

In class on October 11th, 2018 Sue had us start the process of old age. I was unsure of how we were going to create this look on our faces.

The first step in this process was using the app called aging booth. We took our headshots from before and took a picture of them. The app then created an image of what we would look like when we get older. It showed us crows feet, wrinkles on our forehead, smile lines, and noses. Also because everything dropped I got a double chin, which does not look very good!

We than took this image and put our line elevation on it. We did this so we can use the four sections as a guide for when we out the makeup on our face.

Now it was time to put the lines on our faces. OLD AGE (HALF FACE)

The first step for me was to draw a line down the center of my face. I did this because it helped me see where all my wrinkles were supposed to go.

This step shows the finished process of what it looked like after I places all the wrinkles on my face. The only part that I did not like was the lines I drew coming off of my eyes. They were way too long but I did not notice this until I finished all of the steps.

Here I placed the highlights above the brown to help create dimension. Next I blended up the highlight and blended the brown down.

This is the finished product for my old age half face. I thought that this project was going to be the start of where we really got into the makeup that I wanted to learn more about. As you can see in this picture I make a face to show you where my wrinkles would naturally be in addition to the old age makeup. I think I did a decent job. There is one thing that I would change and that would be the darkness under my eye. It started down way too low and doesnt look right. I made not to change this in my future old age full face project. Overall, this was a really funn assignment and I didnt have that many questions on this one as I did previously.

OLD AGE FULL FACE

I will admit right off the bat I did not take enough progress shots of this project. I feel as though I was so focused on the makeup aspect that it slipped my mind. However I did get a few including the finished product.

This is the first step where I added all of the shadow lines. I did this with a brown pencil and I also fixed the deepness underneath my eye that I did not like before when I did my half face.

I then put the highlight shade above the brown. Next I blended both colors of the lines out. I did not get a picture of before when I had not yet blended out the lines. Here I also put my natural beige foundation over my lips. Sue told us that this was to help make our lips look smaller because they will get smaller when we get older. I would have never thought that something this little would make a difference in the final product. However, it did and helped change the entire look. This showed me that the tiniest details really do matter. Up close it did not look like my lips were covered but when i stood at the front of the room and looked in the mirror it was such a cool transfermation.

This is a side view of my eye wrinkles. I was really happy with how they turned out this time and I am glad that I was able to notice what I needed to change before I create the full face.

I think that this picture is acutally quite scary. I dont like how real it looks. The next step was for use to use the white sort of paint from our BEN NYE kits to change the color of our eyebrows. This step made the whole look come together. I showed my family this picute and they couldnt believe how real it looked. This project was so much fun. One thing I could have done better was create a shadow on my eye lids to help with the effect that they were going down. I am proud of this assignment.
